PARK AVENUE & FOUR O’CLOCK ROAD ROUNDABOUT CONSTRUCTION PROJECT

Update for June 21, 2017- Park Avenue and Four O’clock Road Roundabout
The roundabout project is nearing substantial completion and is on schedule to open to traffic on June 30th. Remaining work includes driveway tie-ins, some median curb and concrete, sidewalk adjacent to Blazing Saddles, landscaping, final asphalt lift, regulatory striping, and installation of the lighting control center and connection to the new transformer. Work outside of the roadway may occur through July 14th.


 Update for June 2, 2017- Park Avenue and Four O’clock Road Roundabout

The roundabout project continues to progress, with electrical conduit and street light base installation, and initial roadway grading. Per the terms of the contract, the contractor may work Saturdays during the project. Park Ave will be re-opened to traffic by June 30th and the entire project is slated for completion by July 14th .

Update for May 3, 2017- Park Avenue and Four O’clock Road Roundabout

The closure of Park Avenue, between Ski Hill Rd and Park F-Lot, began on April 24th with traffic detoured onto Main Street. Access to all businesses and lodging on Park Avenue will remain open during the project. Detour access to Four O’clock Road is provided on Village Road to Primrose Path. Park Ave will be re-opened to traffic by June 30th. The entire project is slated for completion by July 14th .
Relocation of storm water piping is underway. Utility work will continue over the coming weeks followed by the surface concrete and asphalt work. Per the terms of the contract, the contractor may work Saturdays during the project.

Update for April 19, 2017- Park Avenue and Four O’clock Road Roundabout

Construction of the Four O’clock Roundabout began on April 17th.  The Contractor, Columbine Hills Concrete, has been mobilizing materials and equipment to the project site, locating utilities, and forming concrete street light bases.  Work on the project will ramp up next week with the closure of Park Avenue; demolition work and storm sewer installation is scheduled to be completed.

Currently, the entrance to Tiger Dredge Lot from Park Avenue is closed.  The Tiger Dredge Lot is accessible from Adams Avenue, which is configured for two-way traffic.  The northern portion of the lot is closed to the public for construction staging and operations. Guests and residents are encouraged to use the South Gondola Parking Lot for free parking during the project. Employee permit holders will be able to park in the Tiger Dredge Parking Lot during construction; however, please note that availability of spots will be limited.

Park Avenue will be closed to through traffic between F-Lot and Ski Hill Road beginning on Monday, April 24th. Access to businesses (in Blazing Saddles Center) and lodging (River Mountain Lodge and Sawmill Creek Condos) on Park Ave. will remain open. Traffic detours will be in place routing through traffic to Main Street. Detour access to Four O’clock Road will be provided up Village Road to King’s Crown.

The project is slated for completion by July 14th (Park Ave is scheduled to reopen on June 30th). Adjacent pedestrian improvements connecting to the Blue River Plaza will take place in the fall.

Patrons can access the Riverwalk Center through the south end of the Tiger Dredge Parking Lot. Additional pedestrian-level signage will be provided from the South Gondola Parking Lot along the Blue River to the Riverwalk Center.

Update for April 10, 2017- Park Avenue and Four O’clock Road Roundabout

The north entrance to Tiger Dredge will be closed beginning on April 17th. Please use caution if    entering through this entrance as the contractor will begin staging and mobilization on April 10th.

 

Update for April 5, 2017- Park Avenue and Four O’clock Road Roundabout

Construction is scheduled to begin on April 10th, with work beginning in the Tiger Dredge Lot and adjacent to the roadway. The north entrance to Tiger Dredge Parking Lot will be closed for the duration of the project. The parking lot will be accessible via Adams Avenue, which will be configured for two-way traffic for the duration with no on-street parking. The north end of the parking lot will be under construction and utilized for staging. Guests and residents are encouraged to use the South Gondola Parking Lot for free parking during the project. Employee permit holders will be able to park in the Tiger Dredge Parking Lot during construction; however, please note that availability of spots will be limited and employees are urged to use alternate parking locations.
