Cross Country Ski Lessons and Clinics

Gold Run Nordic Center is closed for the season.  Please check back in the fall for Winter 2013/14 program and event updates.

The Gold Run Nordic Center offers lessons and clinics for all ages and levels, from never-evers to elite skiers. Lessons run throughout the season and every day of the week! We are a PSIA Certified Nordic Ski School.

Lessons

Daily Group Ski Lessons

Lessons are offered daily at 10am and 12pm. Lessons last 1-1.5 hours. Classic or skate lessons are available; beginner to advanced levels. Lessons cost $45 per person and additional persons within the same party are $35. Complimentary trail pass is included, rentals are available for half price. Reservations are highly recommended. Walk-ins are welcome based on instructor availability.

Private Lessons

Private lessons are offered daily, based on instructor availability. Lessons last 1-1.5 hours. Classic and skate lessons are available; beginner to advanced levels. Cost of lesson is $55.  Complimentary trail pass is included, rentals are available for half price. Reservations are required, including a $20 non-refundable deposit. Walk-ins may be possible based on instructor availability.

Learn to Ski Newcomer Package

The Newcomer Learn to Ski Package is offered daily at 2:00 pm. The lesson is either classic or skate and lasts approximately an hour. Lesson, trail pass and rental equipment are included for $50.00. Reservations are highly recommended. Walk-ins are welcome based on instructor availability.

Ski with Bernie (Ages 10 & Up)

Ski with Bernie 2012-2013 Season: Come ski with Bernie, Nordic Supervisor, at Breckenridge Gold Run Nordic Center. Work on individual Nordic skills such as consistency, technique and skiing continuously at an even pace for 1 hour.  You can choose classic or skate skiing - geared towards all abilities.  Cost is $12, $10 for season pass holders.

Expert Video Session and Analysis

A private cross country ski session designed to focus on one specific ski technique in a fun environment. Slow motion and single frame analysis quickly identifies technique strengths and deficiencies. A certified instructor will view the video with you and prescribe drills and specific changes to your technique to improve your skiing performance. Warm up on your own, 10 minutes to video tape one technique, 20 minutes to view, analyze, and prescribe changes. $30 includes trail fee. No online registration - call to make reservation, 970-547-7889. Video analysis is a great way to follow up after a "Ski with Bernie" session or a private lesson. Move your game to the next level! Women's Clinics & Series

Women's Wax & Skin Care Clinic 

How do I wax and take care of my Nordic skis?  Do temperature, snow conditions and type of ski matter?  The answer is to all three is ‘YES.’   Gold Run Nordic Center and Arbonne Skin Care products are teaming up to host a fun, social and informative gathering.  We will discuss the basics of skin care as well as ski care.  Learn about many similarities and new products.  Light snacks and drinks will be provided. Bring your skis to wax and your questions to have answered.   There is no cost, but donations will be accepted to cover the costs of materials. 

Women’s Beyond Beginner Skate Ski Clinic - February (18 & Up)

Gold Run Nordic Center's Women's Series Presents "Women Beyond Beginner Skate Ski Clinic - February."  This series of skate ski classes is designed to advance your skating techniques. Take your skills to the next level by testing your endurance, efficiency and effort. The clinic is taught by women for women, ages 18+.  Each session is only $60.00. No refund for missed class. Drop in rate is $25 per class, depending on availability. 

Classic Divas (18 & Up)

Gold Run Nordic Center's Women's Series Presents  "Classic Divas”.  (Re)introduce yourself to the romantic technique of cross country skiing. A three week session will cover the basic technique maneuvers of classic skiing and then progress into the finer aspects. Find yourself kick-n-gliding with ease. The course is taught by women for women. Each session is only $60.00. No refund for missed class. Drop in rate is $25 per class, depending on availability.

Ski Programs & Series

Interactive Wax Clinics

Let the professionals at Gold Run Nordic Center teach you the simple step-by-step progression of waxing your skis.  Gold Run Nordic Center is proud to host a hands-on interactive wax clinic.  You will be doing the waxing. The clinic is designed for all levels of Nordic skiers, and all ages are welcome.  Discussion items will include but are not limited to:  identification of snow crystals, snow transformation, proper iron temperatures, scraping and brushing techniques, wax additives and questions from the participants.   Gold Run supplies the irons, brushes and profile benches.  A $10 fee  includes the wax of the day.

Youth Ski Programs

Bill Koch Youth Ski League (Ages 5-14)

An introductory Cross Country Ski program for youth 5 to 14 years old.  The program will introduce the different disciplines of cross country skiing.  Non-intimidating races will be available for all participants and their families. The participants will also have the opportunity to meet and ski with the Summit Nordic Middle and High School Ski Teams.  Rental Equipment and Trail Pass are included in fee.  This program is run in conjunction with the Summit Nordic Ski Club Program. The registration fee includes Summit Nordic Ski Club Membership.  Meet in Nordic Center Wax Room. Bill Koch will participate on Mondays and Thursdays with instructionals. They may enter the citizen races on Thursdays following 'training.'  Program cost is $60 per session.
