Want to register for 2013 Breckenridge Summer Camp? It's EASY, just follow these steps!

  1. Learn about our exciting Summer Camp program by reviewing the information on this page.
  2. Download and fill out the Camp forms at the bottom of the page.
  3. NEW - Provide a recent photograph of your child with required forms.
  4. Turn in your forms to the Recreation Center Front Desk and purchase a 2013 Summer BMC Membership (includes camp t-shirt).
  5. You are now ready to register online!
You thought you had fun last summer? Well this summer is shaping up to be even bigger and better! Spend the summer swimming, climbing, hiking and jumping on our giant Inflatable Obstacle Course! Not to mention going CRAZY and being kids!!! The Breckenridge Mountain Camp or BMC is not just your typical summer day camp program. We have the best staff in all of Summit County, delivering some of the most enjoyable and exhilarating programs around! BMC offers a fun and positive experience that enriches and satisfies your child all day long with a focus on building character through recreation. Programs are based on skill development, guided discovery and amazing activities that foster healthy, outdoor fun. BMC is a state licensed program for children ages 5-12 and each child is placed into groups according to his/her age.

NEW this summer! Tuesdays are our NEW designated field trip day, so register early!!

 

Days: Monday - Friday, field trips on Tuesdays
Dates: June 3-August 16
Times: 8am-6pm
Fees:  BMC Membership - $10 (includes camp t-shirt;
required for all campers)
Breckenridge Resident - $38; Non-Resident - $43
Lunch - $5 per day

* We DO NOT offer a non-field trip alternative on Tuesdays for children who would prefer to stay in Summit County.

Counselor in Training Program (Ages 13-16)

The CIT program is for motivated teens who want an active, fun summer but also want to learn responsibility! CITs learn camp programming, planning, decision-making, goal setting, communication, and team building! Each CIT is paired up with a camp counselor from whom they can learn, and then s/he has the opportunity to transfer the tools they learn into actual work groups.

CITS are not required to attend each day but are highly encouraged to do so. Community service is available to those interested. Please contact Jess Morse at (970) 547-4333 for information and to apply.
Days: Monday and Wednesday-Friday
Dates: June 3-August 16
Times: 8am-6pm
Fee: $20 per day

 

2013 BMC Theme Weeks

June 3 - Blast-Off into Space
Planets, moon, stars and astronauts! Discover more about the universe and how planet Earth fits in! Learn about the newest NASA technologies and discoveries during our field trip to the Denver Planetarium.

June 10 - Wild Animal Kingdom
Lions, tigers and bears, oh my! What’s your favorite animal? This week we visit the Denver Zoo and learn more about animals in our climate and from all over the world.

June 17 - Pike’s Peak or Bust!
Bank robbers, gold, miners and mountain settlers! This week we learn about historic mountain culture and how our first settlers survived here. We go gold panning, make candles, discover old mining ruins and visit a working mine here in Summit County.

June 24 - Amazing Race
Camp jump starts the week with a camp-wide scavenger hunt through town! Stay tuned to find out which group wins the race to the finish!

July 1 - Party in the USA New this year!
Campers create their very own 4th of July Float that will be featured in the Town of Breckenridge’s 4th of July Parade! USA! USA! USA! No field trip this week, no camp on July 4th.

July 8 - Train Like a Super Hero
Ever wonder how the Hulk got so strong or how Aquaman can swim so fast? Find out this week as campers learn how to form healthy habits for life all while acting like their favorite Super Heroes. Who knew exercise could be so fun?!

July 15 - Mad Scientists
Explosions, gooey messes and rocket launches! Just a typical day during our Mad Scientist week! Learn all about the world around us during our excursion to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science!

July 22 - Splish Splash!
Enjoy a week of water balloons, slip 'n' slides, sprinklers, squirt gun fights and the ultimate obstacle course! Don’t forget our swimsuit and, of course, a trip to Water World!

July 29 - Under the Sea
Campers will love this week’s field trip to the Denver Aquarium. Campers experience a flash flood and even see real mermaids! The fun doesn’t end in Denver -- be prepared for a week full of water sports. Don’t forget your swimsuits and sunscreen!

August 5 - Music Mania
This week we partner with the Breckenridge Music Festival to learn about and explore instruments and music! Special musical guests, field trips, karaoke and dance are all a part of this exciting week!

August 12 - Campers Rule the World!
It’s that time again...the end of summer! Join us as we celebrate the summer of 2013 and all the fun that we’ve had. It’s campers vs. counselors, competing all week in wacky sports like noodle tug-of-war, krazy kickball and more!
