What is the SustainableBreck Business Program?
The SustainableBreck Business program is a voluntary program designed to help local businesses and organizations (within Town limits) save money while reducing impacts on the environment. By providing free energy and environmental assessments as well as green coaching, this program will provide local businesses assistance to save on your businesses’ operating costs (on energy, waste, supplies, water, and transportation costs) while reducing your carbon footprint. Fill out the self assessment survey to get started and a green coach will follow-up with you on initiatives that your business can take advantage of today.
How does the program work?
The first step is to fill out the self assessment survey. Next, a green coach will contact you regarding the self assessment results, schedule a time to meet with you on site and identify some actions that your business can easily implement, resulting in saved operating costs and reduced environmental impacts.

How does being a Certified Green Business help my business?
Certified Green Businesses receive numerous benefits such as professional on-site environmental audits and one on one green coaching, Certified SustainableBreck Business decal for your storefront, recognition on Town and Breckenridge Resort Chamber web sites, recognition on the radio and in the newspaper, and more! If you choose to move forward, you should also see cost savings to your business in the way of reduced energy bills, etc.
What does the program do for the Town of Breckenridge?
In 2011 the Town of Breckenridge adopted the SustainableBreck Plan after a lengthy community wide participation process. The Plan included a number of recommended actions, including a goal to establish a sustainable business program with local businesses. Businesses participating in the program will represent one of many efforts underway that will ultimately help reduce the carbon footprint of our community.
