Noxious Weed Control

Oxeye Daisy

What are noxious weeds? Noxious weeds are non-native, invasive, ornamental weeds that pose an ecological disaster. Noxious weeds are very aggressive and competitive for limited moisture, nutrients, and sunlight from surrounding plants. Noxious weeds can also alter soil properties and the composition of plant communities that can ultimately change the structure of animal communities.

Main species targeted in Breckenridge include the Oxeye Daisy, Scentless Chamomile, and Common Tansy. Herbicide application typically begins in mid June mainly in the morning hours or as weather conditions allow. Application continues as necessary for individual species throughout the summer months.
