Please join us for the 2013 4th of July Breckenridge Style. 
You will find something for everyone in the family from a 10k trail run to start off your day, to hometown parade on Main Street, to concerts at the Riverwalk Center.  Breckenridge is a great place to celebrate our nation's independence and summer in the mountains.  Please see below for a 4th of July schedule. 

Breckenridge Independence Day 10K Trail Run
This scenic 10k trail running race offers up some of the best views in the Breckenridge area, while finishing just in time to catch the Main Street parade and other festivities.

Garden Party
Enjoy coffee, mimosas, and a breakfast spread on the Barney Ford House Lawn and watch the Independence Day Parade from the best seats on Main Street, while supporting the Breckenridge Heritage Alliance.  Reservations strongly recommended.

The Firecracker 50 Mountain Bike Race

This mountain bike race launches the 4th of July Parade in front of thousands of spectators. Come cheer on riders as they embark on a 50 mile journey on the beautiful trails in and surrounding the Breckenridge area. Register early as this race fills up very quickly.

Main Street Parade
time 9:30 am  - The Firecracker 50 Mountain Bike Race will start the parade at 9:30am & it will take 800+ riders 1/2 hour to get down Main Street in waves- a very exciting start to the Breck parade.

Arts District Celebration

Far View Horse Rescue 4th of July Pony Rides
Come join the fun and ride one of Far View Horse Rescue's three beautiful ponies. Far View Horse Rescue's Breckenridge/Fairplay horse rescue rehabilitates rescued horses with caring volunteers and provides horsemanship education, resulting in the successful placement of horses.

Kids’ Water Fights
Kids’ can join the Red, White & Blue Fire in an old time water fight on Main Street.  This is a long time Breckenridge tradition and it is free for kids to participate. A hit every year!

30th Annual July Arts Festival- on July 5, 6 and 7

The 30th Annual Breckenridge July Art Festival is annually ranked one of the top art shows in the United States.  Located at Main Street Station at the corner of South Main Street and South Park Avenue.  Please click here for more information.  

Free 2pm Concert at the Riverwalk Center
The Town of Breckenridge will once again be providing world class music on July 4 with a free concert.  This year, the Town is proud to present Karl Denson's Tiny Universe.  Karl Denson has led a storied career as a multi-faceted recording and performing artist who first came to prominence as a member of Lenny Kravitz’ band and later as the founding member of the The Greyboy Allstars. Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe is a unique blend of groove, jazz, funk, R&B and hip hop.

National Repertory Orchestra 4th of July Holiday Concert

cost free lawn seating (please no dogs or other pets on the Riverwalk Center Lawn) and $5/$10/$15 PLEASE NOTE INDOOR RESERVED SEATING IS SOLD OUT.  There will be a limit of 5 tickets per order.

On July 4, the Riverwalk Center Box Office will be open from 5pm-8:30pm. 

Tickets will be made available for sale online and in person at the Riverwalk Center Box Office located at 150 West Adams Avenue on Thursday, June 27 at noon. Phone orders will ONLY be accepted at 970-547-3100 after the Riverwalk Center Box Office has served guests waiting in line. The NRO Patriotic concert will be at 8:30 p.m. on July 4th in the Riverwalk Center with doors opening at 8:00 p.m. Lawn seating will remain free and will not require a ticket- first come, first seated.

All proceeds from this concert will be split evenly between the National Repertory Orchestra and programs for wounded military members and veterans and their families at the Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center (BOEC). The National Repertory Orchestra was founded in 1960 to provide an intensive fellowship that equips young musicians for orchestral music careers. The NRO made their home at the Riverwalk Center in 1993- www.nromusic.com. The BOEC was established in 1976 and is a national leader in outdoor adventure education serving all people, with a specialized focus on serving those with disabilities and special needs- www.boec.org.  

Fireworks (weather permitting)-
Fireworks will be set off from the center of town and will be visible throughout Breckenridge.  With the Ten Mile Range as a backdrop, this is an exceptional way to cap off a 4th of July Breckenridge style. 

UPDATE- On Monday, July 1, 2013, Red White and Blue Fire along with the Town of Breckenridge declared that recent rains have created an environment where a public fireworks display could be allowed on July 4.  These fireworks are set off by pyrotechnic specialists who are very familiar with this site and environment.  This public fireworks display will also be closely monitored by Red White and Blue Fire.   PLEASE NOTE- that these are the ONLY allowable fireworks and any use of personal fireworks will be met with a zero tolerance policy.
