For events, workshops, tickets and more, explore Breckenridge Creative Arts.
Breckenridge’s artistic personality is rooted in an authentic, welcoming spirit that has been developing since the Gold Rush days. Poets, painters, photographers and artists of all types have journeyed to our mountain haven to express themselves creatively.
In modern history, the Town embarked on a long-term investment in the Arts beginning in the 1990s with the Riverwalk Center and the Art in Public Places program. In the 2000s, to support the Breckenridge vision of a cohesive and diverse community where art, architecture and cultural events and facilities improve the community experience for residents and visitors, offer diverse and affordable programming, and promote Breckenridge as a year-round cultural center for the region, the Town developed the Arts District master plan.
Recently, as the cultural renaissance continues, the Town accelerated the build out of the Arts District campus, made improvements to the Riverwalk Center, and created a new entity to manage the Town's cultural arts resources. In 2014, Breckenridge Creative Arts was formed to elevate the cultural offerings and to increase this sector's economic engine, which ultimately - through a variety of collaborations - will bring to fruition the vision of Breckenridge being recognized as a leading creative destination.
