How to Apply

Thank you for your interest in the Town of Breckenridge. Our application and recruitment procedures are outlined in general below. Procedures and requirements may alter for each vacancy, so please carefully review the specific instructions for each vacancy announcement.

Where to Obtain a Town of Breckenridge Job Application:

  1. Download the Application for Town Employment or Police Department Application here or refer to Related Downloads below
  2. Email us at jobline@townofbreckenridge.com  
  3. Call our jobline, leave your name/address, and we'll mail you one (jobline: 970-547-3123)
  4. Drop by our Applicant Station on the lower level of Town Hall (applications are available at this location when the building is open to the public)
  5. Pick up an application at the Recreation Center, Ice Rink, or Public Works.

Completing the Application

All individuals interested in employment with the Town must submit either a completed Town of Breckenridge application or Police Department Application.

Complete ALL PARTS of the application thoroughly and review application requirements for each vacancy. For some position vacancies, a resume, a cover letter, or other information, may be required. Incomplete applications, untimely applications or failure to include information may result in an application not being considered during the recruitment. You may attach a resume and cover letter even though it is not required; however, a resume will not substitute for the completed application. Applications will only be considered for positions currently listed as open. If you are interested in a position that is not currently open, please check back frequently and apply when the job is listed.

Submitting an Application

Your application must be received by the deadline that is outlined in the job announcement or posting.  Human Resources will not consider applications received after a position vacancy has closed. You can submit your application by regular mail, email, or you can drop it off at Town Hall. The "drop box", located at the applicant station set up outside of Human Resources, is checked daily. Jobs are posted and blank applications are also available at the application station. If you send your application via mail or email, please direct it to:

Applications may also be submitted at Town Hall, Public Works, the Recreation Center, Ice Rink and other locations. You can submit your application directly to the contact individual listed on the specific job opening announcement, if one is listed. 

Contacting the Supervisor or Human Resources

If the specific job opening lists a contact individual, you may contact that supervisor or representative for additional information. Unless it is suggested in the job announcement, you should not visit the work site to request a meeting with a supervisor.

Applying for More than One Job

If you list more than one job on your application, you must turn in your application to Human Resources, or photocopy the application and submit it to the supervisors or contact individual listed on each job posting.

You may want to keep a copy of your application in the event you are interested in future positions.  

Directions to Human Resources/Town Hall 

Breckenridge is located 104 miles (166 km) from Denver International Airport. Take Interstate 70 west to exit 203. Continue south on HWY 9 to Breckenridge. Turn right at Park Avenue, follow Park Avenue approximately 1 mile. Turn left onto Ski Hill Rd. at the intersection of Park Ave./Ski Hill.  Take an immediate left into the Town Hall front parking lot, you will notice we are between 1st Bank & US Bank. Park in front of Town Hall, go into the building down to the lower level (basement) and follow the signs to Human Resources. (refer to Related Links below for Map to Town Hall/HR)

Human Resource/Town Hall Office Hours

Human Resource office hours at Town Hall vary, but are usually 8:00 am - 4:00 pm (Monday - Friday). However, the office may be closed from time to time for meetings and interviews. The applicant station in the hallway is generally accessible, even when the Human Resources office is closed. Applications can be picked up, completed and submitted at the applicant station, when Town Hall is open to the public.  Town Hall common areas are typically open to the public from 6am - 6pm (Monday - Sunday).
