SUMMIT COUNTY – Summit County and the Town of Breckenridge announced the joint purchase of the LOGE Hotel located outside of Breckenridge for future workforce housing.

The property, currently a 38-room hotel constructed in 1961, is located on Tiger Road in unincorporated Summit County. The acquisition cost of $6 million was evenly split between Summit County and the Town of Breckenridge.

“This property is very unique and has a long and interesting history. With this acquisition we look forward to working with Summit County to insure that going forward it will serve our local workforce and provide much needed housing for locals,” said Laurie Best, Director of Housing for the Town of Breckenridge.

Jason Dietz, Director of Housing for Summit County, said immediate plans included a zoning change to enable its conversion from a hotel to housing, along with necessary upgrades to accommodate long-term residents. “Future development plans would be a joint effort with the Town, who has been a great partner when it comes to unique housing solutions,” he added.

“Thanks to the commitment of Breckenridge Town Council and our respective staff efforts, we now have a site in a great location with tons of opportunity for our workforce,” said County Commissioner Elisabeth Lawrence.
