Glass Bottles & Jars Return to Single-Stream Recycling May 1

BRECKENRIDGE, CO – Single-stream recycling for Town of Breckenridge residents will include glass bottles and jars effective May 1, 2026. Glass bottles and jars can be placed directly in single-stream recycling bins along with paper, cardboard, aluminum/tin cans, and plastic bottles, jugs, and tubs, eliminating the need for separate glass collection. This expanded access is available for home recycling curbside pickup throughout the county. This change also applies to Summit County businesses. Glass recycling at the public Recycling Drop-off Centers will shift to mixed-glass collection, and the County Glass Depots will remain available.

This recycling service is made possible thanks to the Summit County Strong Future Initiative. Through this initiative, Summit County Government is expanding recycling programs to reach the community goal of 40 percent diversion by 2035. To learn more, visit High Country Conservation Center.
