Town of Breckenridge Launches Event and Animation Grant Program

BRECKENRIDGE, CO – The Town of Breckenridge is offering a new Community or Destination Event and Animation Grant Program to provide financial support for new events within Town. Town staff developed the program to provide parameters to fund off-cycle programming in response to community-driven interest. “The Breckenridge business community and event organizers seek to bring new events and animation to Town when the opportunity arises,” said Town Manager Shannon Haynes. “The Town and Council needed a mechanism and structure to evaluate these opportunities and are happy to present this grant process to the community.”

The grant program, which opened in July 2026, will focus on events that bring year-round vitality and economic impact, while building community engagement and connection. Grants will fall under three levels of funding depending upon the attendance and length or frequency of the event. Tier 1, with support up to $10,000, will be reviewed by an events sub-committee, while Tier 2, up to $50,000, requires Town Council approval. Tier 3 ($50,000 and up) may only apply at the Town Manager’s invitation and will be reviewed by Council. The application process is designed to be simple and easy for new organizers to partner with the Town.

Applications are scored on a range of criteria including economic and tourism benefit, execution feasibility, inclusivity, and environmental sustainability. Events that are funded require robust post-event reporting detailing outcomes, event attendance, and final details of how Town funds were used.
