Potential Issues w/ Retrofitting Bistro Lights
When bulbs hang below the installed retrofit shields, they are considered non-compliant. Please see the example diagram below. However, there is the option to replace the bulbs with shorter ones. This issue is common with most bistro light retrofit products on the market, and the additional cost of buying new bulbs may result in a higher total cost than the cost of replacement.
Light Bulb Information
If you purchased a shield to retrofit bistro lights and the light bulbs extend below the shield, the lights are considered non-compliant. Compliance can be achieved by replacing the existing bulbs with a smaller compatible option, such as the examples shown below. Always use light bulbs that are compatible with the socket type and cord specifications for safe operation.
