Community Ride-Along Program

The Breckenridge Police Department is proud to offer community ride-along opportunities to residents and visitors who would like to gain a firsthand understanding of police operations and public safety services in our community. This program is designed to strengthen trust, promote transparency, and build positive relationships between law enforcement and the people we serve.

Participants will have the opportunity to observe patrol operations, learn how officers respond to calls for service, and gain insight into the daily responsibilities and decision-making involved in law enforcement. Our goal is to provide a meaningful experience that encourages open communication and fosters a stronger connection with our community.

Application & Approval Process

To ensure the safety and privacy of our officers, community members, and those we serve, all ride-along requests require completion of an application and successful completion of a background check prior to approval.

Dress Attire

All ride-along participants are required to wear business casual attire. Appropriate clothing includes slacks or khakis, a collared shirt, blouse, sweater, and closed-toe shoes. Please avoid jeans with rips, athletic wear, shorts, flip-flops, or clothing with offensive language or graphics. Dressing appropriately helps maintain a professional appearance and ensures comfort and safety during the ride-along experience.
