2026 Regular Municipal Election
The 2026 Regular Municipal Election Will Take Place on April 7, 2026.
The 2026 Breckenridge Municipal Election will be conducted by mail ballot. There are no in-person polling centers.
What is on the Ballot in 2026?
Three (3) Council Member Seats for four-year terms.
The three candidates who receive the most votes will serve in the three Council Member seats.
Receiving Your Ballot
Ballots will be mailed to all active registered Uniform and Overseas voters (UOCAVA) in mid-February 2026. Uniform and Overseas voter casted ballots must be in possession of the Town Clerk by April 15, 2026, to be counted. Postmarks do not count for late receipt.
Ballots will be mailed to all other active registered Breckenridge voters beginning Mid-March 2026. Ballots must be in possession of the Town Clerk by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day to be counted. Postmarks do not count for late receipt.
All ballots have been mailed as of March 23rd, 2026. If you did not receive a ballot, you may request a replacement ballot from the Office of the Town Clerk.
Something Happened to My Ballot - What Do I Do?
If
- You registered to vote after ballots were mailed;
- your ballot was lost, destroyed, or spoiled; or
- some other reason you did not receive your ballot in the mail
You can request a replacement mail ballot beginning March 16, 2026.
Replacement mail ballots can be obtained in person at the Town Clerks Office at Breckenridge Town Hall located at 150 Ski Hill Road, Breckenridge, CO 80424. Breckenridge voters may obtain replacement mail ballots from the Town Clerk during business hours prior to Election Day, and on Election Day until 7:00 p.m.
Replacement ballots will not be issued after Election Day.
Casted ballots must be in possession of the Town Clerk by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day to be counted. Postmarks do not count for late receipt.
Absentee Ballots
If you are a registered elector of the Town of Breckenridge but will be away on election day, you may request an absentee ballot. You must submit an Absentee Ballot Request form to the Town Clerk. Once your registration is verified and a form is filed, an absentee ballot will be mailed to you.
The last day to file a request for an absentee ballot is Friday, April 3rd, 2026 at 12:00 pm.
Absentee Ballots must be in the hands of the Town Clerk by 7:00 pm on Election Day to be counted. Postmarks do not count.

Casting Your Ballot
Mail ballot packets include your ballot, secrecy sleeve, and a pre-addressed Official Return Envelope. Secrecy sleeves are included as a courtesy and are not mandatory for ballots to be counted.
Voters need to follow all the voting instructions included on their ballot. After you have marked all your voting choices and finished voting:
- Refold your ballot along the original fold lines
- Place your voted ballot in the Secrecy Sleeve
- Place the Secrecy Sleeve (with voted ballot) into the Official Return Envelope
- Sign and date the "Affidavit of Voter" located on the back of the Official Return Envelope
- Return your voted ballot by mail (include postage) or hand deliver ballot to designated drop off locations
Logic & Accuracy Test - March 5, 2026
The Breckenridge Logic and Accuracy test for the April 7, 2026 Regular Municipal Election will occur on the afternoon of March 5, 2026. The Logic and Accuracy test is open to the public.
If you are interested in attending the Logic and Accuracy Test, you must RSVP by emailing Mae Watson - Town of Breckenridge Town Clerk at maew@townofbreckenridge.com by March 3, 2026 at 5:00pm.
