Permits are required for all new construction, alterations, and remodels. Building Permits are a means to achieving a healthy, safe, energy efficient, and a durable built environment. Examples of projects that require permits are listed in this document. However, since every project has unique parameters, please contact us if you have questions. The Town of Breckenridge and the staff of the Building Inspection Division look forward to partnering with you on your project.

The Town of Breckenridge Building Department only issues permits for work done within the Town of Breckenridge Town Limits.  Before starting the application process, please verify the address of your work is within the Town Limits.  The Summit County website has a search tool with information and jurisdictions for all properties.  Please click here to search you project's address, and make sure the jurisdiction listed is Breckenridge.
