How to obtain a copy of a Police or Accident Report:
Most police reports are public information and can be obtained by filling out a request form. The request form needs to be on file before a report is released. Copies of reports are usually available 3 to 5 days following the incident. To obtain copies of police reports, please contact the Records Division at (970) 453-2941 during business hours which are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5:00 p.m or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Copies of police incident and accident reports are $.25 page. There is no fee for reports less than 10 pages sent electronically. There are additional fees for copies of photographs and cases requiring extensive research. All fees are listed on the Records Request form.
To obtain a Town of Breckenridge background check, you must come to the police department during business hours. The cost is $10.00. You may obtain a State of Colorado background check by contacting the Colorado Bureau of Investigation. The cost is $6.85.
The Breckenridge Police Department no longer provides fingerprinting services to residents and businesses of the Town. All fingerprinting services will be done at the Summit County Sheriff's Office. Applicants must make an appointment ahead of time.
