The 2020 Regular Municipal Election is scheduled for April 7, 2020. This will be a MAIL BALLOT election for Town of Breckenridge registered voters. Ballots will be mailed to the registered elector's address on file with the Secretary of State during the week of March 16th. All ballots must be received back in the Breckenridge Town Clerk's Office by 7pm on Tuesday, April 7, 2020 to be counted.
Four (4) Town Council seats and one (1) Mayoral seat are up for election in 2020. Town Council and Mayoral terms are four years.
One of the four Town Council seats is a partial term, serving 2 years. The Council candidate with the fourth highest number of votes will serve the 2-year term.

The Council is the legislative and governing body of the Town.
The Town of Breckenridge utilizes the “Council-Manager” form of government. The Council determines policies, enacts local legislation, adopts budgets, and appoints the Town Manager. The Town Manager executes the laws and administers the Town government.
The Town Clerk’s office and the Election Commission, under the provisions of the Breckenridge Town Charter and the Colorado Municipal Election Code, administer municipal elections. Town elections are non-partisan.
