The 2020 Regular Municipal Election is scheduled for April 7, 2020. This will be a MAIL BALLOT election for Town of Breckenridge registered voters. Ballots were mailed to the registered elector's address on file with the Secretary of State on March 17th. All ballots must be received back in the Breckenridge Town Clerk's Office by 7 pm on Tuesday, April 7, 2020 to be counted.
We strongly encourage you to mail your ballots in.
However, you may also use the 24 hour drop-box located at the Summit County Building at Lincoln and Ridge.
If your ballot is damaged, spoiled, or you make an error filling it out, you may request a replacement ballot.
Four (4) Town Council seats and one (1) Mayoral seat are up for election in 2020. Town Council and Mayoral terms are four years.
One of the four Town Council seats is a partial term, serving 2 years. The Council candidate with the fourth highest number of votes will serve the 2-year term.

The Council is the legislative and governing body of the Town.
The Town of Breckenridge utilizes the “Council-Manager” form of government. The Council determines policies, enacts local legislation, adopts budgets, and appoints the Town Manager. The Town Manager executes the laws and administers the Town government.
The Town Clerk’s office and the Election Commission, under the provisions of the Breckenridge Town Charter and the Colorado Municipal Election Code, administer municipal elections. Town elections are non-partisan.
