  •  NOTICE: Town of Breckenridge has cancelled all events at Town Facilities AND closed ALL Town Facilities to the Public

    The town has closed all our facilities to the public for two weeks as recommended by the Governor. The Recreation Center will be closed until April 6th, in conjunction with the School District. Our facilities will have minimal staffing and we will ensure essential operations with those staff, as well as staff working remotely. The Town will continue to produce clean drinking water for our community. We will also continue plowing operations, though service may be reduced. Though many other Town services are not as forward facing as those in public works we will continue to assist citizens other needs via phone or email. The Town will not conduct building inspections or review building plans during this time. As mentioned, facilities are minimally staffed with essential personnel. Other staff members are teleworking.

    During the Town Hall closure, we recommend the following methods to process Real Estate Transfer Tax (RETT)

    1. The easiest, fastest, most convenient method of going through the RETT process right now is to email your RETT to websitefinance@townofbreckenridge.com. In your email include the following:
      1. Verification of Gross Consideration or RETT Exemption Application
      2. Deed
      3. Supporting Documentation
      4. Drop payment in the payment lock box in the front doors of Town Hall or mail your check to: Town of Breckenridge, Attn: RETT, PO Box 8629, Breckenridge, CO 80424
    2. If the post office remains open, mail is a viable option.  We will check the mail intermittently as long as there is no USPS shutdown.  Mail to: Town of Breckenridge, Attn: RETT, PO Box 8629, Breckenridge, CO 80424

     

    The Business and Occupational License (BOLT) Ordinance for the Town of Breckenridge was revised by Town Council at the August 28, 2018 meeting.

     The major changes that were incorporated into the new ordinance are:

    1. Applying the Special Conditions of License to all accommodation units,

    2. Addition of an annual accommodation administrative fee, and

    3. Requiring properties to provide a registered agent to respond timely to potential complaints.

The Town of Breckenridge Finance Division comprises the Accounting and Finance functions. The Division provides many essential services to the Town’s government; financial reporting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, annual budget generation, records management, and financial assets management to name a few. In addition, the Finance Division prides itself on providing excellent customer service to the citizens of the Town. These services include utility billing, business licensing, sales tax collections, and financial reporting.
